Compliance
As
a company exporting from the United States, or exporting U.S. made
products, you must comply with all of the complex laws, rules and
regulations governing exporting. The International
Trade Assistance Centers (ITAC), a program of the Small Business
Development Centers of Ohio and the Ohio Department of Development,
have created this web site to help Ohio's small
businesses
learn and understand export compliance and efficiently
design and implement an export management system.
This
site contains links to the main federal agencies involved in export
controls, and other state and local resources that provide export
assistance.
It will also
help you learn:
- What federal government
agencies have jurisdiction over exports
from the U.S.
- The role of the Bureau
of Industry and Security of the Department of Commerce under
the Export Administration Regulations
(EAR).
- How to comply with
EAR through an export management system.
- When an export can
be shipped under NLR (No License Required), License Exception,
or requires an export license.
- U.S. exports are restricted
and/or prohibited to entities and destinations embargoed by the
Department of Commerce, Department of Treasury, Department of
Energy, and Department of State.
- An export license is
required to export specified items to forbidden parties in the "Entity
List."
